History & Introduction

The Steel Pipes for Africa Group was founded in 1993 by Mr Ian du Plessis, a young dynamic entrepreneur, with the financial backing of Mr Glanville Gardiner, a Johannesburg businessman.

The first outlet was established in Pretoria West. Due to hard work, dedicated staff and focusing on the specific needs of various niche markets, like the DIY enthusiast, small business, medium business and the export market, this one outlet has grown into a multi-million Rand operation in less than a decade.

The group currently consists of a number sizable, independent operations, with Mr Ian du Plessis the group Managing Director and Mr Glanville Gardiner the group Chairman. These branches cover the whole of South Africa.
